Thanksgiving 2020 at Hale Kau Kau

HALE KAU KAU celebrated its bountiful 2020 Thanksgiving lunch on Thursday, November 26th, with at least 232 South Maui residents—while maintaining CDC guidelines and safety protocols. Throughout the week, generous volunteers offered their time and talent by preparing roasted turkey, cranberry-apple stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, fresh bread, and pumpkin pie with lots of whipped cream.

Every mouthful of this traditional Thanksgiving meal was delicious and appreciated by all guests.Maha lo to our supportive volunteers for their food preparation, service, and kitchen clean-up, and to the drivers who reliably deliver daily meals to home-bound residents. We are truly grateful to numerous donors for their substantial contributions, which made it possible to accomplish our Hale Kau Kau mission, “Feeding the Hungry with Compassion & Aloha”, in spite of Covid-19 pandemic conditions.

God bless you — one and all!

Mahalo to Gwen Allen and friends for providing live Christmas music.

Masks, Gloves and Social Distancing ensured a safe but festive holiday event.
